Main points
- If you rent for 7 days or more, drop-off at any other location in Thailand is free
- None of the vehicles may be taken off-road
- To cancel your booking please call the Chiang Mai office on 053 202871. Please quote your booking reference.
- Budget will deliver to locations within Chiang Mai City for free. There may be an additional charge for delivery to some of the out of town places, including some of the resorts, please ask for details.
- If you intend to drop-off the car in Chiang Rai there is 100 Baht + VAT extra charge.
- When you pick up the car you must have a Credit Card, (International) Drivers Licence, and Passport.
- Pick up and drop off outside office hours (8am - 6pm) will attract an additional charge. There is no charge for out of hours pick up or drop off at Chiang Mai airport.
- Minimum driver age is 21 years
- Upon delivery of the car and signing of the rental agreement, Budget requires a security deposit (amount will vary from 10,000 Baht to 100,000 Baht depending on the type of vehicle. Please check exact amount at time of rental) which will be blocked on your credit card, and released when you return the vehicle.
- For 1-3 hours overtime BUDGET will charge an hourly rate, for 3 hours and more a full day rate.

1-3 Days = 2500 Baht + VAT
3-6 Days = 1000 Baht + VAT
7 Days + = Free

1-3 Days = 200 Baht + VAT
4 Days + = Free

1) USE RESTRICTIONS: The Vehicle will not be used or operated by anyone:

A. who is not an Authorized Driver;
B. who allows more passengers to occupy the Vehicle than there are seat belts or who does not require all occupants to comply with applicable seat-belt and child-restraint laws;
C. off regularly maintained and paved roadways; outside the Kingdom of Thailand;
D. who leaves the Vehicle and fails to remove the keys, close and lock all doors and close all windows and the trunk, or otherwise aids in vandalism or theft of the Vehicle;
E. who does not know how to operate a manual transmission (if Vehicle has manual transmission);
F. when continued operation of the Vehicle is likely to cause damage to the Vehicle; to engage in any speed contest;
G. to carry people or property for hire (unless otherwise agreed by Budget); to push anything; to tow anything;
H. who improperly fuels the Vehicle (gasoline in a diesel-powered vehicle or diesel fuel in a gasoline-powered vehicle); who improperly loads the Vehicle or transports weight exceeding the Vehicle's maximum capacity; to carry hazardous or explosive substances;
I. if the Vehicle is obtained upon the basis of false or misleading information;
J. who, as a result of reckless misconduct, damages the Vehicle or causes personal injury or property damage to others;
K. while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance that impairs driving ability;
L. during the commission of a felony or for the trans-portation of illegal drugs or contraband;
M. where insufficient height or width exists).

2) VEHICLE LOSS AND DAMAGE: Renter is not responsible for Vehicle loss or damage caused by acts of God or accidental fire that is not the result of a collision....

....if there is a violation of a use restriction, LDW is void and renter is responsible for all vehicle loss and damage, related expenses, loss of use, and an administrative charge as described above.

3) LIABILITY PROTECTION: if there is no violation of a use restriction (paragraph 3), Budget provides automobil liability protection to authorized drivers for causing bodily injury (including death) and property damage to others resulting from use of the Vehicle....
