The Karinthip Village is located on a site that 700 years ago was a riverside elephant pier. Elephants were based here, working with the timber which was being floated down river. Since that time the river has settled upon a different route, but the respect to these memories is still paid. Karinthip means an elephant from the heaven, hence the name “Karinthip Village” .
