One Day, One Mountain Trek

Itinerary:

6.00am - 6.30am Pick-up from your Chiang Mai Hotel / Guesthouse. (only applies to trekkers departing from Chiang Mai)

8.00am Breakfast at Chiang Dao Nest (only included for trekkers departing from Chiang Mai)

8.30am Meet guide and assistant(s). Depart Chiang Dao Nest (altitude - 470m) in the back of a pick-up truck (can be cold and wet depending on the weather of course). Hopefully enjoy the awesome views of this special mountain on the ride up the twisty and steep road. Drive up the mountain into the National Park for about 30 mins to the start of the hiking trail. (altitude - 1140m).

9am- ish Start walking ....

Packed lunch enroute.

Head to summit of Doi Luang Chiang Dao (altitude - 2245m)

Enjoy the summit before turning around and walking back down (it is along the same route you walked up, but looks completely different in the other direction!).

Meet the pick-up truck at the same point you left it in the morning, then drive down the mountain. Theoretically you should be back at Chiang Dao Nest before 18.00pm, but it does depend on the pace of the group.

Transfer back to Chiang Mai (for those departing from Chiang Mai), usually back to Chiang Mai by 20.00pm

Please note: the English spoken on this trek will normally be very little and occasionally none at all. The emphasis for this trek is on the outdoor adventure, hiking, and getting to the top of a beautiful mountain. We employ local guides from the Chiang Dao area who's English is mostly non-existant. We pay them well, as we want the local residents to benefit from the visitors. While they cannot speak English, they do know the way, know how to look after people and will communicate in other ways. It seems to work out ok for most people but we understand that this will not be suitable for all.

Also note: You will be requested to carry 1 litre of water with you (we will provide you with the water). The guide / assistant(s) will be carrying additional drinking water.

- You could also consider staying at Chiang Dao Nest for the night(s) before / after the trek.

Things to bring
(you can get all of these things cheaply in Chiang Mai / Bangkok)
- Small backpack / rucksack
- Warm-ish, weatherproof clothing for the pick-up journey up and down the mountain.
- Sun block
- Lightweight raincoat / plastic poncho
- Sturdy weatherproof footwear with good grips.
- Long trousers / pants are good for parts of the trek (the ones where you can unzip the legs are ideal)
- Hat
- Insect Repellant
