Staying 1000 feet above the town in a fort where little has changed since the raja himself stayed here, minus the elephants. The entrance to the fort is at the bottom of the steep hill so guests have to be transported in a jeep to the living quarters. A few hundred years ago they made the trip on elephant back. The fort has amazing ramparts, innumerable terraces and balconies. The views of the town stretching out before you, particularly in the evening are to be cherished. The place also has a swimming pool. There is plenty to do in town such as handicrafts shopping and exploring, but the main draw to this town is a chance to stay at this fort.
