It was a great hotel and I will stay there when I return to Thailand this fall. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Always ready to help in any situation.
Booking was easy and I will do it the same way in the future.

I stayed in a Sapphire Suite in the Court wing. This is in the older part of the hotel across the road from the reception area. The room was very spacious, clean and well equipt, but it was also tired and dated. I have stayed in one the Cattleya (excuse spelling) suite before when I was lucky enought to be upgraded and they really are superb by anyones standards. Hotel location is good and close to the main drag. because of the room I give it a 6 out of 10, but had the room been of the quality I expected then I would score much higher. I am sure there are many nicer rooms with more modern fixtures for 3000 baht available.
No problem. Hotel had all my details and went very smoothly. Sawadee answered all questions promptly and were very proffesional. Would use them again anytime.

third time we have stayed with this group(president solitare twice last year) each time they have not got the apartment right. Tried to book 2 delux studio apartments this time and was told they were being refurbished and was recommended by them to a suite in their north court not good, very shabby in need of refurbishment and no daylight at all. Spent the first night there as we had arrived late afternoon but went and complained the next morning and got what we originally tried to book. They were excellent and the staff and the breakfast that was included was as well. Well situated for skytrain and the shopping. We also had the same trouble with the president solitaire wrong room but complained and next day fixed up.

Stayed at The Sapphire Suite at a cost of 2607 bath per night. Rooms were large and clean, Staff friendly and Breakfast good. The only problem we had was after checking out we were waiting for the taxi the receptionist came out and said the we have not paid for the peanuts we have taken. Had to inform them that we did not take anything fron the mini bar, but they were adament. In the end I had to sign a from to say that we did not take anything from mini bar. Otherthan this everything was ok. Will recomend to anybody. Nice place.
Easy to deal with

We stayed at the Royal President on Sukhumvit Soi 15 for a nine day period in early January, 2006. We had a Deluxe Studio in the Park Wing at a rate of 2700 baht/night. With one major exception, which I ll address lastly, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Although technically service apartments, the accomodations and service were the equivalent of any four star hotel. Rooms are spacious, well-appointed and clean; the staff extremely polite and accomodating. (With a service apartment, you re provided with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, hot water dispenser, plates, cutlery, etc. so that you can prepare meals in your room as an alternative to dining out). The hotel has a very nice, although compact, pool area. The buffet breakfast was excellent, although egg dishes are not part of the buffet offering (but can be specially ordered from the kitchen). Location is excellent. You re an easy five minute walk to Sukhumvit, and then an additional five minutes to either the Asok or Nana Skytrain stations. Robinson Department Store and the smallish Times Square Shopping Mall are within easy walking distance, and the lavish Emporium Shopping Mall is one Skytrain station away. By the way, there s an excellent gourmet supermarket in the Emporium with a vast and incredible selection of take-away food which you can easily bring back to your room and zap in your microwave. Just as you reach Sukhumvit from Soi 15, there s an excellent, inexpensive and extremely popular open air Thai cafe located on the corner. Now here s the one major drawback with the Royal President, and the reason that I ll not stay there again. Both myself and my companion are non-smokers, and we requested a non-smoking room. On arrival, we were given a Deluxe Studio room which absolutely reaked of cigarette smoke. When we returned to the lobby to complain, the young lady who checked us in explained rather sheepishly and with great embarrassment, that they had no non-smoking accomodations -- not that their non-smoking rooms were filled up; they simply didn t offer any! I have to say that I was absolutely astounded that a facility of this caliber would not set aside accomodations for non-smokers. As the young lady explained, the hotel catered largely to Asian business travelers (about 70% Japanese), the vast majority of whom are smokers. Since the bulk of their guests don t give a hoot whether or not their rooms stink of cigarettes, hotel management made the purely ecomonic decision to dispense with non-smoking facilities. That being said, they did change our room to one which had been located on what was formerly their non-smoking floor, and with a sufficient amount of room deodarizer having been sprayed, was considerably better smelling than our first offering. Since these have now been designated as smoking rooms, I imagine that they ll smell as strongly of cigarette residue as the others in short order. So in conclusion, if you re a smoker or can tolerate a room saturated in the residue of tobacco smoke, the Royal President offers great value for the money. If you re a non-smoker or someone who has any sensitivity to cigarette smoke, then you should definitely book somewhere else (as I will in the future).
No problem, and would not hesitate to use again.
