Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon For my partner and I, our stay at Chalee Bungalow cemented our love for Thailand as a retreat from a hectic life. I cannot stress enough how helpful, pleasant, and friendly Chalee was. We arrived after a trouble-filled journey only to be warmly welcomed by the owners Sharon and Raymond. As soon as we arrived our problems melted away, no doubt aided by the fantastic restaurant (when the head of the Hoteliers association eats there on a regular basis you know you are on to a good thing). After checking out other accomodation on the island we were glad to return to Chalee. We never encountered any problems with the staff who were always friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and peaceful (typically we saw seven others on it at any one time--it is about two kms long!) Price wise Chalee is a fabulous deal, and if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, secluded time, hoping to catch up with a good book in the sun while drinking/eating your body weight in melon juice/green curry, then I thoroughly recommend Chalee. I know for certain that my partner and I will be returning on a regular basis for years to come. The hospitality is worth the trip alone. |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon This was simply amazing intimate setting, with a bungalow on the beach. It is romantic and would be ideal for couples, although unfortunately I was travelling alone. I had a 2 hour Thai massage in the shade on the beach, and dinner (virtually home-cooked by the owners) served on my own verandah overlooking the beach. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, it was like staying with friends (who live right on the beach and have a full restaurant). I foolishly allowed only one night here on my way back from Koh Pha Ngan, I would have spent more days here (and less in downtown Bangkok) if only I had known. I am considering making a trip back to Thailand, I would include Chalee Bungalow on my itinerary again if anywhere nearby. |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon Our stay at Chalee Bungalows was lovely, our beach front bungalow was exactly as we expected and made for a very comfortable stay. Sharon And Raymond were wonderfull hosts and were very helpfull with everything that we needed. The food was some of the best we experienced during the three weeks we were travelling Thailand. We would recommend these bungalows but if you like luxury hotels this is not for you, but after being in luxury hotels then arriving at Chalee we preferred the peacefull surrounding Chalee had to offer. The beach is not the best for swimming but one is not far away. Thankyou Sharon and raymond. |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon Admittedly we did book this the day before but when we arrived wanting to stay for 3nights we could only stay for one as they had double booked us. Owner did offer to help us find alternative accomodation though. Had bungalow on sea front, was clean and ok for the price. Some of the staff were not the friendliest, but overall, an ok place to stay. |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon at location perfect .Sharon and Raymond made us feel at home .The food in the restaurant is the best on the island The chalets are exellent value for money although the mattress,s are a little hard .If we visit Ko Samui again we,ll definately stay at Chalee Bungaow |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon We stayed in Chalee Bungalow for 13 Nights. What I can suggest to anyone wanting to stay there is look somewhere else, the rooms are small, the beds are made of concrete, the mattress was lumpy and almost broke our backs, they call a beach towel a blanket, the beach is so small, that the day it rains, there is no beach left, when there is a beach it is so dirty one wouldn t even want to walk on it, can t say much good about the service or attitudes of the people there, we decided to look somewhere else for our food and drinks and that was like the nail in the coffin as far as they were concerned. We got better deals on breakfast and motorcycle rental outside & because of that Sharon s attitude towards us totally changed for the worse. On top of it the inhouse restaraunt is too expensive considering the quality and type of food they offer, also be ready to pay through your nose for your 1st cuppa tea/coffee. To anybody going to Koh Samui, we would suggest you look at other beaches, Chaweng OR Lamai maybe. Enjoy your holidays, Saba & Vikram |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon Fellow travellers, we just returned from a quiet peace of paradise. We had a beachfront bungalow with A/C (recommendable to cool down (and dry your stuff in rain season)). Each evening we where sitting on the terrace - 5 Meters from the very quiet beach. The bungalow was very nice, very clean, incredibly friendly staff and 2 fantastic hosts (Ray & Sharon - THANKS!) - they just organize everything you need. The place is really quiet, though ideally located to reach all the island with your scooter (just book the automatic one directly at the reception desk). Enjoy your coctail in your hammock - we ll definitly do when we come back to Koh Samui. Greets, Frank & Marlies |

Chalee Bungalow, Choeng Mon My partner and I would like to advise any potential Chalee resident to expect a level of service and relaxation that is second to none. Ray and Sharon were gracious hosts, nothing was too small or large for them to handle. They made life on Samui very easy and also made it very difficult to leave! The accommodation itself is fine - we were lucky to be able to enjoy a beach bungalow, with ensuite facilities, mini-bar and air con, and a very comfortable hammock. While not in the cheap or budget range, it was very much value for money. The restaurant boasts an extensive and mouth-watering menu (the seafood extravagansa is a must). A mention must also be afforded to the thai/oil massage available. At 300bht this way my highlight of the day! Set in luscious gardens, Chalee enjoys a beachfront location. Further, the location of the bungalow complex in Bo Phut ensures a peaceful existence, away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, and believe me, it s welcome. Transport to and from Chaweng is plentiful and cheap. Chalee is no more than 10 mins from a small selection of bars, restaurants, banks and shops. It is also possible to arrange an airport pick-up straight to the door. |
