Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Kantiang Beach Pimalai is a beautiful Resort built over a hillside. The accommodation is spacious and clean. It has a nice clean beach ideal for swimming. Their Seven Seas Restaurant is by far their best by way of the setting and table arrangements, service and the food is exquisite. The prices are what one would expect to pay at a 5 Star resort. There are insects that crawl out at night due to its location and we have to expect it. Whilst the staff have a poor command of English, they are very pleasant and ever willing to help and provide service. We stayed 8 nights and looking back, have no regrets at all. |

Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Kantiang Beach Probably the best hotel I have stayed at. Wonderful architecture and landscaping. Great location and beach facing exactly west so you can watch the sunset over Koh Ha. Close to the good Thai dive sites so you can complete the first dive before anybody else arrives.Would highly recommend. |

Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Kantiang Beach The hotel was artificial and was not sympathetic to the surrounding exotic wilderness that Ko Lanta is so well endowed with. The exceptionally noisy irrigation system, service vehicles, staff with crackling walky talkies, all contributed to polluting what should have been a beautifully exotic setting. The food was bland and over priced, which was our primary disappointment as we always look forward to enjoying good Thai food when we visit Thailand. We were previously staying in a family run resort in Ko Samui (Laem Set Inn)- the food was excellent, the hospitality second to none. It was not ruined by over development and an attempt at creating a false Thai ambience. The Pimalai would be fine for Florida or Dubai, however given the natural environment and the people that Thailand has been blessed with there is a need to develop resorts/hotels that are both sympathetic to its surroundings and allows you to savour Thailand at its natural best. |
No Problem - excellent booking and payment service. |

Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Kantiang Beach Pros: quite beautiful and well maintained, staff universally kind, helpful, hardworking. The food in the main restaurant was quite good. Lovely pool & beach. Great attention to detail in all respects. Cons: Once we walked through the gates, we lost the sense that we were in Thailand; we could have been anywhere -- the carribean, hawaii, etc. There wasn t anything particularly Thai about it. Restaurant prices were relatively high, averaging $65 US for two. Other resort services -- and singha -- were also expensive. Felt a little trapped (unlike most places, pimalai doesn t rent motorbikes) due to it s isolation. It tood a while, but we discovered that there was a good, cheap, beachfront Thai restaurant down the beach, which we enjoyed. It would have been nice if the sliding doors in the rooms had screens (and the rooms, fans), so that we could listen to the ocean on cooler nights. As it was, the waves were drowned out be the loudish air conditioners. We ll happily stay there again, but next time, we ll save money (and have more fun) by eating more meals elsewhere. |
Very reliable & flexible. Allowed us to alter our reservation without hassles. |

Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta Yai, Kantiang Beach A very lovely resort. I believe we got great value for the price. ALL of the staff, from the clerks at reception to the gardeners and everyone in between were friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I would highly recommend it to other travelers. |
