Joie de Vivre is a family vacation home nurtured and built with extreme passion, love and care, to provide for the very joys of living and comfort that a tired soul would seek in the lap of nature
This earthy vacation home is built completely by local craftsman & designed keeping in mind local hill aesthetics
Joie de Vivre is located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand approximately 62 km from Haldwani, in a village called Sashbani – Letibunga, Mukteshwar
The property has two residing cottages – Joie de Vivre - Villa and Joie de Vivre - Terraces.
The Villa comprises a Living cum Dining room with a Fireplace, Kitchen, and a Bedroom on the ground floor and two Bedrooms with Attics on the first floor. A wooden staircase on the first-floor landing takes you to the Studio Attic, where you can find a small library of books, Games, and Music Instruments
The Terraces consists of Three Bedrooms - Two Bedrooms on the ground floor with one having a large open balcony, beneath which is the residing quarters of our housekeeper cum cook and his family. The third bedroom is on the first floor which is accessed via an independent staircase, consisting of an Attic, an open fireplace, and a large semi-covered balcony

A Glass Conservatory faces the entrance to the Villa with terraced fields running from South to West. There are passages between the two cottages connecting them both. A small Temple is situated on the terraced field adjacent to and above the Glass Conservatory

All guest rooms have attached toilets. In addition, a powder room is situated in the entrance lobby of the Villa
The space is good for 12 people, however, extra beds can be accommodated in the three-bedroom Attics (2 folding beds each in the Villa Bedroom Attics and 1 folding beds in the Terraces 1st-floor Bedroom attic) and 1 folding bed in the Terraces ground floor bedroom. Extra persons will be accommodated @ Rs.1800 per person per night aged 5yrs and above

The boundary wall that runs all along our property makes it secure from trespassers and you are free to move around or sit ‘n’ relax wherever you feel happy including spending time on hammocks near the glass conservatory
Food arrangements can be discussed once the stay is confirmed. Kindly adhere to meal timings:-
Breakfast : 7:30 am to 10 am
Lunch : 12:30 pm to 3 pm
Dinner : 7:30 pm to 10 pm
The kitchen is wound up at 10:30 pm, however, you can make a request for an extension at the premises.
Meals are served only in the Dining Room at the Villa or in the Balconies on the Terraces. Tables can also be laid in the Glass Conservatory, should you like to enjoy your meal in that environment
Water - we use regular mountain spring water for drinking and cooking, which is completely safe, natural, and pure!
Joie de Vivre is a Smoke-Free Zone and if you still wish to stress your lungs, please do so outside the main entrance gate
There is ample Car Parking space available – Two to Three cars can easily be parked at any given time
The premises is WiFi equipped.
We request you treat this as a HOME and not as a Hotel, which it is not. Please treat OUR home as you would treat YOURS!! :)
Guests will have the access to the entire property.
Host is available most of the time over a call or a message, and at times may meet you at the property.
On a clear day, one can view the Panchachuli snow-capped peaks from the property itself, and a short uphill 100mtr walk will enthrall you with magnificent views of the Nanda Devi Himalayan range.
A small waterfall is right on the opposite hill in the reserve forest - you can see and hear the water gushing when water levels are high. You can even walk down to the base of the falls if you like.
