Rosery, the name is as evocative as it is redolent - of a rose-garden sprawling over 60 acres, belonging to the erstwhile Maharaja of Pithapuram, now a sprawling tea-garden. Though the Pithapuram Palace itself maintains its regal facade, notwithstanding the many sea-changes inside, the grounds and the out-houses offer a more interesting scenario. One such house, Atwood, has been transformed into suites with a view of a pond, fringed with tibouchina, cherry and champa or undulating tea-slopes.
