As with the entire property, the entrance to Villa Bayanaka is discreet. Upon passing through its gates, one enters the estate via a long bamboo and hibiscus-lined driveway. The upper section of the estate consists of an expansive grass lawn and tropical garden, fringed with frangipani, flame and coconut trees. Guests can enjoy this amazing landscape from the comfort of the traditional styled pavilion, known to the Balinese as a Wantilan. This spacious area provides the perfect place for quiet siestas, sundowners, dinners or BBQ's, whilst watching the sunset across the valley. For the more adventurous, it offers an outdoor sleeping experience where one can gaze at the night sky and stars. Adjacent to the Wantilan is a traditional Javanese wooden house, which provides a cosy third bedroom with double size bed with close access to the Wantilan bathroom. A pathway lined with man-sized terracotta pots overflowing with bougainvillea, leads down towards the main living areas, which one enters via an 'Angkul-angkul' (Balinese gate) and elevated stone steps over a small pond. Built in the shade and cool of coconut palms, banyan's and other trees and vegetation that line the banks of the river, Villa Bayanaka has done away with energy consuming air-conditioners to truly enjoy the sounds and scents of nature. A natural green-stone 14m infinity pool separates the two main bedrooms. Glass sliding and folding doors from the two main bedrooms open onto hanging wooden decks surrounded by dense trees. This, combined with views of the river bank and neighbouring pad fields, creates a 'lodge-like' atmosphere. Adjoining each bedroom with King size bed, are natural open-air bathrooms together with large walk-in wardrobes that generate a feeling of light and space. To give guests a feel for living in a Balinese home, alang-alang (grass thatch) is used to line the roof's interior with traditional village tiles on the exterior.
