MUKUtensha Fujinomiya Mt. Fuji Retreat - Fujinomiya Description
"MUKU" means "solid wood" in Japanese.
"ten" means "above the heavens" or on top of a wooden board in Japanese.
"舎" is a kanji design that represents good fortune residing within the home, and is pronounced "sha."
The silhouette of the kanji character for "舎" (sha) creates an auspicious design.
The slope of the gable roof matches the ridgeline of Mount Fuji, and domestic materials are used to create an interior space that evokes the silhouette of the kanji character for "舎" (sha).
Please enjoy the attention to detail born from the architect's design, who wanted to create an auspicious inn, and the craftsmanship of the artisans.
Adjacent to the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center.
An exclusive city retreat hotel, hosting only one group per day, surrounded by natural wood.
A unique retreat and lounge gallery in the heart of Fujinomiya, limited to one group per day, with views of Mt. Fuji.
Experience an exceptional time in a primitive modern space surrounded by the elegance of Japanese woodwork.
Located between the historic Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine and the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center.
The moment you step into the guest room, you will be enveloped by natural aromas.
The interior is adorned with legendary wood from Japan’s ancient myths, including Yakusugi cedar over 1,200 years old, exuding romance and power.
The collection of records and books about Mt. Fuji and wood, combined with the view of the real Mt. Fuji through the "Fuji-view window," offers unmatched good fortune.
In the evening, unwind in the sauna or hinoki bath while enjoying the unique borrowed landscape of the cityscape. In the morning, enjoy a visit to the Sengen Taisha Shrine followed by a breakfast featuring ingredients from the Mt. Fuji foothills.
