Osawa Onsen Toujiya

 

 

 

 

Toujiya is a long-established hotel cherished by poets Miyazawa Kenji and Takamura Kotaro. Its famous open-air bath, Osawa-no-Yu, is designed like Miyazawa's "The Four Seasons in Ihatov," and evokes a nostalgic feeling.

From Hanamaki Airport: about 50 min by taxi at around JPY 5,500 (as of Apr. 2016).
From Hanamaki Station (JR Tohoku Main Line): about 30 min by taxi at around JPY 3,500 (as of May 2016).
For guests using the JR train:
A free communal shuttle bus runs regularly between the station and Hanamaki-minami Onsenkyo.
The service departs from Shin-Hanamaki Station (Shinkansen) and stops by Hanamaki Station (Tohoku Main Line) on the way. 3 trips for pick-up at the station are available on guests' arrival, and 2 trips for drop-off at the station depart from the hotel the following day.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Hanamaki-minami IC and take Prefectural Route 12. Head straight to Hanamaki-minami Onsenkyo and turn right at the signboard with Yu (?).
