Yubata Kagetsutei - Izu Description
Hitou Hidden Hot Springs
Rendaiji is a hot spring area said to have been founded by Japanese Buddhist priest Gyoki 1,300 years ago. The temple named Rendaiji which gave its name to the area has been gone for 800 years, but this area has many hot spring sources with enough water to fill hot spring baths all over Shimoda.
History also tells us that Yoshida Shoin, an important figure at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate, came here to heal his skin condition in the hot spring. The place where he happened upon the hot spring is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
The water quality here is slightly alkaline, giving it skin beautifying and warming effects which coat the whole body.
Also the water temperature is low to average compared to other hot springs, which prevents dizziness and discomfort from prolonged bathing.
These hot spring waters are sure to relax away all your fatigue and tiredness.
Indoor baths in the guestrooms are spacious and filled with all natural water pumped continuously from the source.
The water here is effective on the following:
Nerve, muscle and joint pain, stiff shoulders, beautifying the skin,
motor paralysis, joint stiffness, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive diseases,
hemorrhoids, chills, recovery following sickness, recovery from fatigue,
and improvement of overall health.
*Bedding is laid out in advance on this plan.
The baths may be used until late at night.
