This accommodation allows only 1 group per day, offering guests a truly personal way of getting to know the real Tango. The guest house gives off a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere and a nostalgic ambiance -- it's as if guests have been here before.

Located in a fishing village on the Tango Peninsula, Kominka Goheiji features an old Japanese-style wooden construction built 80 years ago, as well as a storehouse built 140 years ago. These buildings preserve traditions of the past and are decorated with antique furniture while providing the comforts expected in modern times. The 7 room house is entirely rented out to only 1 group at a time for a luxurious stay. Guests can enjoy the countryside scenery and the experience of staying in this old traditional Japanese house.
Both dinner and breakfast are prepared and served at table seating. Beds are available for 2 guests, and futon bedding is available for 3 to 8 guests. The large bathtub and other plumbing is modern. Staff do not speak English, but the attentive hospitality of the proprietress paired with homestyle Tango cuisine, Japanese cuisine made with fresh seasonal seafood, and original sweets are sure to make for a fulfilling stay.
Shuttle service by car is available to the onsen facility 5 minutes away. Bath tickets are also given to guests as a present. Just a 1-minute walk away is the coast area known as Takenohama beach. There are various spots to enjoy the dynamic scenery of the Sea of Japan including Tateiwa and Byobuiwa rock formations. Free shuttle service between Amino Station on the Tango Railway and the hotel. By train it takes about 2.5 hours from JR Kyoto Station to Amino Station, for a fare of about JPY 4,000.
