You can also enjoy a full scenic view of the Japanese sea from this inn, as well as the sites of rural Japan just as it was in the good old days in the Funaya-no-Sato area. Inecho, one of the famous sightseeing spots on the Tango Peninsula, is just 30 minutes away from Amanohashidate (one of Japan’s three famous views), and about 2 hours away from the center of Kyoto. It is known as the closest Japanese town to the sea, and the traces of a fishing village remain strong. Known as the Funaya (boat house) Village, the town is so close that there are about 250 funaya that line the Ine Bay, each with a boat garage on the first floor. In addition to taking a walk or renting a power-assisted bicycle to view the town, we also recommend trying out the fishing boat ocean taxis or seasonal scenic viewing boats to enjoy a calm and peaceful view of the funaya scenery. Year-round, we offer Japanese kaiseki courses made with fresh seafood caught in the area, as well as crab and Japanese amberjack full courses in the winter.
