Yoshida Sanso was originally built on the mountain side of Mount Yoshida as a residence of Higashifushiminomiya (imperial prince) and his family. It is now a ryokan (traditional Japanese-style inn) where guests can enjoy the traditional, elegant Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine served in the building that honors the prestigious Ura-Kikumon (imperial family crest).
