One of the largest open-air baths in western Japan In the late Cretaceous period about 75 million years ago, the source of the spring water from the fissures in the stratum and the sandstone/mudstone layer with a depth of 1500 m is as hot as 50°C. The quality of the spring is classified as [Sodium chloride/bicarbonate hot spring (hypotonic weak alkaline hot spring)], and it is effective in healing neuralgia and muscle aches.
