30 min by bus from Shinjo city, Hanesawa-onsen is situated in the tranquility of the mountains and surrounded by the primeval forest of Sakekawa-mura, Yamagata prefecture. There are several hotels in the area, but our hot-spring is truly a hideaway. Hanesawa-onsen is famous for its unique hot spring water. It is said that the consistency of the water is like sitting in lotion, but after bathing, you will feel truly refreshed. The water is very good for the skin and is very popular amongst our female guests. It is sometimes called ''Bijin-no-yu'' (''Water of Beauty''). Here, guests can enjoy the seasonal bounty of Yamagata prefecture. We prepare delicious meals cooked with freshly gathered plants in spring, sweet fish caught from the river in summer, and wild mushrooms in autumn. This family-like hotel is tucked away in the mountains, but we'd like to welcome everyone with our wholehearted hospitality.
