Villa Nittra is a quaint 2-storey townhouse, nestled quietly down a backstreet in the center of the Old Town, yet it is just 100 meters from the main road. The house is a stone’s throw from Chiang Mai’s famous Sunday Walking Street and landmarks such as Wat Phra Singh, a 700-year-old Buddhist temple. Everything you require is within easy walking distance – shops, department stores, restaurants, tour agents, car rental, and the famous Chiang Mai moat. As soon as you walk in the door, you will feel like you have been transported back in time to an antique house, perhaps belonging to an old Siamese artist or a Chinese merchant. It is decorated with old hardwoods, Asian artwork and paintings by local artists of hill tribe girls in traditional costumes. The furnishings in the living area are designed in teak, but are equally comfortable if you want to entertain guests or lie down and watch TV. Upstairs is the master bedroom; it is 23 sq.m., with a king-size bed, 40-inch TV, a teak sofa, and leads to a wooden terrace that is ideal for catching the morning sun or sitting to enjoy a glass of wine at night.

For breakfast, just help yourself to what we have placed freshly in the kitchen fridge: enjoy juice, breads, tea, coffee, fruit and more. The kitchen is perfect for those who enjoy home cooking while on holiday; you can join the locals at the market, then come home and prepare some Thai recipes. You may also choose to hire a bicycle, which is a fun way of temple-hopping and travelling around the Old Town. Close to Villa Nittra is Wat Chedi Luang, an enormous pagoda which was partially damaged by an earthquake in the 16th century. And nearby, you can visit Three Kings Monument and the fascinating historical museums beside it. Wander down the backstreets where you can discover northern Thai-style wooden houses on stilts, noodle shops, flower and fruit markets, hidden shrines and secret temples, and a whole lot more. We are confident you will love this city and its friendly people.
