One room has bunk beds and the other with a double bed. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. The well-stocked kitchen is open-plan to the dining area and extensive sitting area, with a sofabed and other seating for 6 people. The kitchen/lounge area opens onto a large patio. The patio is completely private and screened from the lane and the main house. Total privacy is assured in this quiet, rural location. The Gite is in the grounds of a large traditional French farmhouse, with extensive grounds and barns for your use. There is a heated swimming pool with a shower and another Bbq area. The whole area looks out towards the Pyrenees and on a clear day, you can see the snow-topped mountains in the distance. The local village is Puymaurin which has a small library but no shops! But the local town, L'isle en Dodon is a thriving town. It has a small supermarket and a few good restaurants. On Saturdays there is a market offering local produce. The whole area is quiet, rural and boasts an interesting history - from d'Artagnan who was from nearby Auche to the kings of Aquitaine to the West. The Gite is also close to the ski areas of the Pyrenees and only 2 hours from the Spanish border to the south or Carcasonne to the South-east. Only bookings of a month or more are accepted. Your hosts are warm and welcoming - a mix of African and European hospitality awaits. David and Catherine offer a host of local knowledge and stories and are respectful of your privacy.
