At an altitude with a relatively high snow guarantee, one can ski down the slopes without a long wait at the ski lifts. Popular excursions: Sea Aquarium Zella Mehlis (25km), Weimar (70km), Erfurt (60km). The Masserberg region offers three ski lift systems in Masserberg, Fehrenbach and Heubach. The extensive net of ski trails, cross-country skiing trails and winter hiking trails as well as a 400-metre long and well-prepared sledging track round off the leisure programs. The Airport is only 60 km away.
