Popular excursion destinations or leisure activities in the region: canoeing on the Diemel, Weser thermal baths in Bad Karlshafen (12 km), Kassel (35 km), Weser tour and much more... A highlight of the region is the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Sababurg with its zoo. The many cycling and hiking trails on the Weser and Diemel ensure an active holiday if required.
