Build in 1717 by the Prince of Waldeck, the historical monument water mill lies lonely in the midst of dreamlike nature in the natural reserve Wattertal. Affectionately restored, we offer you 6 dreamlike rooms for your holidays, seminars or events.
Unfortunately, due to the sharp rise in energy prices, I have to charge an additional fee, which is noted under the "Cleaning" item.
First recorded in 1540 and rebuilt by the Prince of Waldeck in 1717, the mill is located far off the beaten track amidst the idyllic countryside of the Wattertal Nature Reserve. Lovingly restored, it offers rest to the traveller, inspiration to the casual visitor and restorative peace of mind to overnight guests.
Immerse yourself in the world of the 19th century. Lovingly restored and authentically furnished, the Freienhagen Watermill House, a veritable monument to culture, nonetheless provides visitors and guests with all the conveniences of modern comfort.
Each room is individually furnished and tastefully decorated. Far removed from the hectic pace of life, simply enjoy a state of absolute tranquillity interposed at night only by the occasional grunts of wild boar.
Especially for nature lovers and children, the location represents a paradise in terms of its sheer variety of wildlife. It is a favourite haunt for songbirds, falcons, buzzards, fallow deer, wild boar, foxes and hedgehogs. While in the farmyard there are geese aplenty, trout cavort in the millstream.
Give your weary soul a rest for a week and enjoy the serenity and resplendence of a natural setting you have thus far only imagined as a legend forever lost in time.
