Kalithea Chania Villa is said to be one of the most private and elegant Villa in the municipality of Apokoronas in Chania, Crete. The area of Apokoronas apart of the natural beauty is a place with the most villas in Chania, and that happens because of the wild mountain places and the blue crystal seas with the sandy beaches, the small traditional villages and some well organized places for tourists, that can cover all the needs a visitor would had.
The owner's vision behind the construction and running of this villa is translated into total respect of the natural environment and traditional Cretan architecture combined with all the necessary requirements that ensure a pleasant stay with all modern amenities.
The main building of the villa is simple and influenced by Aegean island architecture. It emphasizes on spaciousness and manages to combine elegant decorative elements with the restrictions of traditional minimalism.
The materials used in the construction were selected carefully emphasizing on environmental protection; local stones were used in walls and floors, unprocessed wood, ochre and ecological paints for plastering and floors as well as traditional construction techniques for the exterior and interior plastering, the rooms and floors.
The exact site of the building was selected after careful study in order to achieve optimal results in heating and cooling. Solar energy is also used wherever it is possible.
There are 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an open space for kitchen, dining room, fireplace and sitting room, and an auxiliary room, all covering the 200 square meters and two levels of the villa.
Ground floor
Kitchen: open type, fully equipped with all electrical appliances; dining area, living room with comfortable sofas, fireplace and a WC; one bedroom with en-suite bathroom; verandah with panoramic view and an outdoor dining area.
First floor
A stone staircase leads to the first floor (80 square metres) that has two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, an auxiliary room (laundry, ironing and linen press); the main corridor leads to the patio (50 square metres) that has an outdoor sitting area.
All of this is offered in a green clad environment, swamped with flowers, aromatic herbs and trees, an ideal place of calm and relaxation for grown-ups and endless games and playing for children.
Villa Kalithea is located in village Pemonia which is at the foothills of the White Mountains, between Hania and Rethymnon.
To reach the villa:
As you enter Pemonia you will come to a big tree almost in the middle of the road,this is where you turn left (towards Fres) and continue on the village road. When you see the church in front of you slow down,continue straight for about 150 metersand turn right on the uphill road. Following the asphalt road, you will see the villa on you left.
