On the banks of the Fossá River just 30 km from Egilsstadir, this hotel offers bright rooms and cottages. A homemade breakfast including jams, bread and lamb pâté is served each morning. Each room at Hotel Svartiskogur comes with a private bathroom, a desk and a chair. Some rooms and the cottages also have a small kitchenette. Guests can relax in the hotel bar or lounge area. Evening meals can be ordered from Svartiskogur’s menu of locally sourced dishes, with lamb as a house speciality. Hiking trails and open nature can be found all around the hotel, and the Route 1 Icelandic Ring Road is only 11 km away. Seydisfjordur and ferry links to the Faroe Islands and Denmark are a 45-minute drive away.
