This hostel in Hafnafjordur, a town which is built on lava, is 15 minutes’ drive from central Reykjavik. It provides a well-equipped guest kitchen, communal dining area and BBQ equipment. WiFi access is free. Sleeping bag accommodation is featured at Lava Hostel, which means that beds include a mattress, pillow and bed linen. Bathroom facilities are shared, and some come with an in-room washbasin. A laundry room with a washing machine and dryer is available at Hostel Lava. Vidistadatun Sculpture Park is just 200 metres away, while Keilir Golf Course is a 4-minute drive from the hostel. Other area activities include Hidden Worlds Tours, hiking trails in the surrounding nature and the Viking Village, 2 km away.
