“L’Arco” is a comfortable apartment nicely decorated with old-Tuscan-style details and furniture, surrounded by the marvellous Val D’Orcia countryside. Its stone walls and the private garden make it unique and intimate. It can host 2 people in the bedroom plus other 2 in the sofa bed in the living room. “L’Arco” apartment (sleeps 2+2, 62 sqm) is composed of a living room with fireplace, kitchenette and double sofa-bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The apartment is part of ‘Podere Pietreta’, an original Tuscan farmhouse from the 1700’s entirely in stone surrounded by beautiful countryside and olive trees. The property was renovated dividing the house into apartments and rooms, carefully maintaining all the characteristics of the original Tuscan style and elegantly adding all modern comforts. The farmhouse is positioned on a hill, at the end of a white road, with an incredible view of the Tuscany countryside, within the National Park of Val d’Orcia included by UNESCO in the World Heritage list. A private park of 3 hectares surrounds the property, including the swimming pool, the olive grove, the belvedere and the parking lot. In front of the “Arco” apartment there is a private garden with patio, equipped with table, chairs, umbrella and private barbecue, where guests can dine enjoying a wonderful view. Available for our guests there is a laundry room fully equipped with washing machine, drier, clothes horse, iron and ironing table. Our guests will be able to enjoy the incredible views from Podere Pietreta, swim in the Roman swimming pool, which is cleaned daily, and walk in the big Podere Pietreta park where you can easily see roes and other wild animals. Pets are allowed with prior notice. You can taste the great wine produced here and appreciate the home-made marmalades and cakes. In fact you can have breakfast served at you place at the cost of €6 per person. The best restaurants in the area offer special discounts to our guests. Mauro and Cristina, the local people from Radicofani working at Podere Pietreta, will be available for all your needs in order to make your stay unforgettable. Radicofani, the village 2km away from Podere Pietreta, is one of the main stops of the famous Via Francigena, the ancient road starting in France on which, since the Middle Ages, thousands of pilgrims have walked to reach St. Peter’s Church in Rome. The village represents a little gem of Vald’Orcia, the area included by UNESCO in 2005 in the World Heritage list for its unparalleled countryside and villages. Val d’Orcia is located in the heart of Tuscany, south of Siena, surrounded by beautiful hills dividing it from Lazio and Umbria. Podere Pietreta is the ideal starting point for nearby excursions (30/60 minutes) to some of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany: Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Radicofani, San Quirico d'Orcia, Chiusi, Cetona, Cortona, Arezzo, Siena. With a 20min drive you can reach the woods of Mount Amiata; the Umbria region is 30 minutes away. The other peculiar characteristic of Podere Pietreta is the presence, within no more than a 30-minute drive from the farmhouse, of several thermal baths, famous for their mineral waters and typical landscapes: San Casciano Bagni, Sarteano, Bagni San Filippo, Chianciano ecc. The Podere Pietreta farmhouse is just 25 minutes away from the "Chiusi-Chianciano" exit of the A1 Milano-Roma highway. Ample free parking available. Each apartment in Podere Pietreta is situated in such a way to guarantee full privacy to our guests. All the apartments benefit from the great views on Val d’Orcia. Interiors are beautifully renovated, carefully maintaining all the characteristics of the original Tuscan style and elegantly adding all modern comforts.
