This village consists mainly of holiday homes and campsites. The village has no church since it was destroyed during the siege of Zierikzee in 1575. The Korenmolen ´t Hert is located outside the village. Ellemeet is one of the villages on the Schouwse coast where a Strao is held annually. This is a farm holiday where richly decorated Zeeland horses are allowed on the beach and in the sea for only one time in the year. The beach at Ellemeet is a family and sports beach. It is close to the Brouwersdam where you can practice many beach sports. You can surf at the beach of Ellemeet. Further on there are also beaches where you can go kite surfing and kitebuggy. Within 5 minutes by car you are in the seaside town of Renesse or in Scharrendijke. Large supermarkets can be found in both villages. In Renesse you can find many trendy shops and places to go out. In addition, this environment is the ideal base for cycling trips and walks through the dunes, along the sea and in the woods. In short, an ideal holiday destination for everyone!
