Fantastically spacious, newly refurbished apartment right in the heart of Bowness on Windermere. The apartment is situated on a quiet little street just a minutes walk from all the amenities Bowness has to offer and just 10 minutes walk to Windermere. The apartment is set out over the top two floors of a beautiful 1900s Lakeland stone building. This gives a penthouse feel with the space of a family home not to mention fantastic views out over Lake Windermere and the mountain ranges beyond! Built of Lakeland stone in the early 1900s and sympathetically renovated in 2022, The Lookout offers a large master bedroom overlooking the town, Lake Windermere and the mountains in the distance. Walking in through the back of the property, you will climb the stairs to the balcony where there is a small sitting area, perfect for relaxing on a warm summer evening. You walk into a large entrance hall/ boot room with stylish bench seat and ample space for your walking boots, coats and bags. This leads you into the spacious lounge with huge L-shaped corner sofa and smart TV, books, puzzles and games. The lounge has 2 large windows which face out over Bowness and onto the Lake and mountains and have a great view over the sunset every night. You will also find the large kitchen/ diner with comfortable built in corner seating and dining table on this floor. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave as well as all pot, pan, crockery, glasses and utensils that you may need during your stay. Climbing the staircase you will find the master bedroom which is a magnificent loft style room looking out Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. With luxury carpets and beautifully comfortable Staples super king size bed. You will also find the spacious second bedroom boasts two superbly comfortable single Harrison Spinks beds which can be zipped and linked to make another super king. The bathroom is situated next door and offers a large waterfall shower. For access to the apartment please walk down the little lane at the rear of Craig Walk. The lane takes you to the front door where you will climb the steps to the raised patio and will find the key box on the fence, this where you can enter the apartment. The linked towns of Bowness and Windermere lie east of Lake Windermere, where Bowness is at the waters edge, with the town of Windermere set about 10-15 minutes walk away above the lake. Each is a busy community of shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions, serving both the local community and our visitors to the Lake District. One of the main attractions of Bowness is the bay, a sweeping crescent of waterfront and adjoining parkland, where you can enjoy a walk by the shore or find a quite place to picnic. This is where you will find the world famous Windermere steamers, which offer boat trips up and down the lake. You will also find a number of places to hire rowing boats, paddle boards, kayaks and canoes as well as motor powered boats, which can be hired by the hour or for longer, to explore the lake and it islands for yourself. Other popular attractions are the World of Beatrix Potter, the Windermere Steam Boat Museum and a little south of Bowness the Blackwell Arts and Crafts house, one of the most important surviving houses from the turn of the 20th century all all within walking distance of the apartment. North of Windermere is Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Center. Set on the lakeshores the main house is surrounded by beautiful gardens where you will find a huge adventure playground, tree top adventure, café, shop and exhibitions along with a host of information about the National Park. They often hold events for Halloween and Christmas as well as others throughout the year. If you fancy a night at the movies, the Royalty Cinema in Windermere is just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment and the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness, staging a lively annual season of music, theatre, comedy and film.
