Halcyon means an idyllic and peaceful time. It also means luxury accommodation commanding panoramic views over Sandpiper Beach and Great Oyster Bay.

Halcyon was completed in 2011 and is situated adjacent to the beach access path. The sight and sound of the ocean will soothe your soul. Freycinet National Park, wineries, fishing, kayaking and golf are all at your doorstep.

There are many attractions here in Freycinet. In the Freycinet National Park you have the famous Wineglass Bay and the lighthouse, you can get information on the walks and hikes in this region from the National Park office here in Coles Bay.

There are lots of stunning beaches for swimming and fishing, a golf course and other attractions in the next town of Bicheno (only 25 minutes away) where you can go on a night time Penguin Tours and see Tasmanian Devils at Nature World.

Coles Bay is a 2.5 hour drive from Hobart & 2.5 hour drive from Launceston (if you drive down the Midland Hwy and across from Campbelltown)
Please be careful driving at night, as soon as the sun starts going down the native wildlife start to come out.
It is advisable to try to be at your next destination before dark wherever you are driving in Tasmania.
Covid safety changes to note prior to your arrival:
Due to Covid safety, we have been advised to remove provisions and amenities that cannot be easily sanitised and to not proceed in sanitising food container & beverage container items. This includes items such as salt & pepper containers and cooking oil. Cardboard items such as al foil, cling wrap, paper towels and tissues etc have been removed for now.
Wherever we can, we have switched to individually portioned items such as dish power, washing power, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper sachets.
All items are complimentary, and not included in the tariff, and are provided free of charge by the owner of the property.
We do hope this is only a temporary measure and we can get back to our usual procedures at some stage soon, however we are following strict Covid safe regulations and guidelines, including having an in depth Covid safety plan and
