Botanica Retreat is a delightful pet-friendly retreat for two in Olinda village, but tucked away and encircled by beautiful mature gardens, a deep verandah, sunset glimpses, and a light bright living space.
Right on the edge of Olinda with Mount Dandenong village a 5 minute walk away, a deep soaking spa bath, comfy living, kitchen, and if you absolutely can't live without it - smart TV & wifi!
Retreat to your own lush and private botanic-style gardens literally within a hop, skip and jump of the cafes, restaurants and boutique shops and galleries of Olinda and Mount Dandenong. Wrap around verandahs and floor to ceiling windows allow the outside to come in and bathe you in all-day light. So refreshing!
We’ve added a work from home space with a comfy chair and desk with usb charging, firepit for those cooler nights, and you can order an organic breakfast pack to be waiting in Botanica Retreat, for you to prepare at your leisure. Lots of little extras to make your stay special.
Have a coffee or wine and take in the morning sun, or sunset glimpses from the verandah, spread a picnic out on the lawn under the trees (picnic basket and blanket provided), soak in the deep spa bath tub big enough for two, curl up on the sofas and watch a movie or lay in bed and take in the garden views for a lazy lie-in. Light the fire pit in calm, cool weather for some night-time ambience.
Order an organic breakfast pack or wine and cheese platter and you'll be find them in the fridge on arrival.
Walk across the road to the beautiful Nourish Day Spa, wander down to the cafes for brunch or dinner or pop into Olinda Wine Cellars for boutique wine tasting on Friday evenings. There's a walking trails book for you to plan a hike, but if you just want a short walk, around the corner is the must-see Chelsea Australian Garden or the gorgeous Cloudehill and why not have lunch at Seasons while you're there?
You don't even need the car unless you plan to buy armfuls of goodies (which you should do actually!!!). The villages of Sassafras, Mt Dandenong, Belgrave and Kallista are also just short drive away, and it's super easy access to the wedding venues and wineries of the Dandenong Ranges and even the Yarra Valley.
The full kitchen features a gas cooktop and electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery - complimentary tea, Nespresso Vertuo pods and some staple pantry items provided in case you arrive late and need a little snack.
The bathroom has a deep soaking spa bath for two with a huge window of privacy glass again bringing in the relaxing greenery from outside, separate shower, and of course the loo.
A split system aircon (and the surrounding gardens and trees) cools the cabin on hot days, an efficient gas heater and/or electric blankets keep you cosy on the cooler ones.
Your small-medium sized well-behaved furry pal is welcome with prior approval (and fee applies) but there are no fences and the verandah railing has gaps so you need to supervise them.
(Do note that internet and phone reception in the Dandenong Ranges can be unstable and please understand we have no control over that. If you rely on wifi please bring a backup modem).

The Retreat and parking space are for guest exclusive use. There is a pathway to the village at the end of the pathway around the cottage (be very careful in wet weather as the path is slippery). The garden immediately surrounding the Retreat is also for guest enjoyment - set up a picnic beneath one of the lovely trees on the grass when the weather is fine.
The owners live on the property 50m up the hill, only barely visible through all the gardens, but prefer to give guests their privacy and ask you to respect theirs as well - feel free to contact u
