Come relive history the Charles Dickens way in this 1900 colonial style bungalow with a stunning valley view. This is not a regular homestay but an experience.
Important : Price on agoda is for upto 9 adults. Beyond 1 we can provide additional bedrooms / beds /- we charge Rs 2800 / adult / bed / night . Our prices are fixed. Child under age 5 no charges. We prefer families to stay with us. Package is inclusive of fixed complimentary light veg-breakfast. BSNL Wifi is free when it works.
The property is only 5 minutes from Yercaud town yet private. Simple South Indian home cooked, breakfast will be part of your package.

The caretaker stays on the property and is available 24/7 in case of an emergency.
Tipperary Bungalow was built around 1900 by the Charles Dickens family and for a time was the premier club of Yercaud. The heritage bungalow is located at the entrance of a working 70 acre working coffee farm. There are also Jackfruit trees, avocado, banana, wild turmeric and peppers which can be consumed in season. My family has owned this property since the 1970's and I am now glad to share this spot with agoda Guests. One bedroom is newly constructed and has a modern bathroom . The other bedroom is part of the older construction but has been renovated and painted. Both rooms have a large extensive patio with a wonderful view of the valley. The caretaker is usually available for guided treks ( 250/ person)through the magnificent property. The other 3 bedrooms don't have valley view and have 2 single beds each,All 5 bedrooms rooms have attached private bathrooms. The sixth bedroom is large and shares a common bathroom with the fifth bedroom.The seventh bedroom is a high ceiling room which does not have a attached toilet.This is a heritage bungalow preserved in old style as much as possible.The caretaker /host has the discretion to allot the rooms.
There are friendly frolicking timid monkeys downhill and you can wake up to birds chirping and fresh coffee from the farm!
You will have access to much of the 70 acresexcept the treehouse.You can get lost on the property because it is so large. The caretakers are available for guided tours. The structures sit on the top 2 acres. You will not have access to the older historical small portion of the house which has fragile antiques.The care taker will indicate the inaccessible portion of the home when you checkin. I live close by and will be available if needed. There are caretakers available on the property to ensure your comfortable stay - Caretaker will also be able to purchase food /other requirements for you from the town at your own cost. There is also a maid/cleaning lady available. There are estate personnel who live on the other side of the property

This property is completely private yet just 5 minutes away from the town. You will live in a historic heritage bungalow with a fascinating past.
The house is on Tipperary Road ( Yes an entire road is named after the house!) and is just a 5 minute drive from Yercaud town.Taxis or autorickshaws can be arranged on request.
Complimentary black Coffee from the farm will be provided twice a day. Extra cups will be charged.Simple complimentary set South Indian Breakfast will be served.

Kitchen is functional but you will not have access to kitchen facilities.Use of kitchen will be at additional charge.
Cell phone coverage is very spotty at the actual bungalow. The large living room has a TV and wifi router. The size of the living room requires you to be near it to have coverage. Wifi calling works well in the living room and under the iconic tree which is the front of the bunglow.
Bonfire can be provided at an additional cost of Rs.1500/night and off-roading in a 4x4 vehicle at Rs.750/( night)& 550 /(day)head.
There are several food options 5-10 minute drive .
The electricity supply is fairly stable - but there can be occasional power cuts. We have a UPS for lights but the hot water will not be available in case of a power cut.
