Enjoying Songkran 2008 Songkran is celebrated in a big way in Chiang Dao. What gives it a unique edge is that the tribes from the surrounding hills get involved, making it even more colourful and vibrant. Chiang Dao Nest will be arranging transport into Chiang Dao town for each day of the festivities. We can also arrange transport for trips into Chiang Mai over this festival. The great thing about enjoying Songkran in Chiang Dao is that when you want to stop playing with water you can return to your guesthouse /resort and enjoy some sanity. While the famous restaurant at Chiang Dao Nest will be closed for dinner (and some lunchtimes) during the Songkran festival, we will be taking our guests out for some cultural eating and drinking nights at friends houses and local restaurants in the Chiang Dao area. Escaping Songkran 2008 Songkran in the bigger cities can be very crazy and for some people they do not particularly want to be drenched every time they step out of their hotel, often until late into the night. Chiang Dao offers sanctuary from the craziness, if you want to be involved you have a choice. |
